ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

It may seem that there’s nothing you can do about stress. The bills won’t stop coming, there will never be more hours in the day, and your career and family responsibilities will always be demanding.

But you have more control than you might think. In fact, the simple realization that you’re in control of your life is the foundation of stress management.

Managing stress is all about taking charge: of your thoughts, emotions, schedule, and the way you deal with problems.

ILC uses various interactive methods to learn by drawing learning points from theory, practices and exercises. This is especially important in drawing strengths of the entire programme and facilitating the learning from one another. Our instructors, serving as facilitators and trainers, will guide the participants through their journey of learning and self-discovery instead of just teaching and lecturing. At the same time, the pace of the programmes will be kept so that participants remain involved and attentive.

Learning techniques include:

Interactive Short Lectures
Theories and principles will be delivered as interactive lectures.  Participants may be requested to read notes prior to the lecture so that more time can be spent on sharing ideas and personal experience.

Group Discussion of Cases and Situations
The participants, based on their personal experience, propose situations where the groups discuss the alternatives ways of handling them.

Practices
Participants are given time to use and practise some of the key techniques taught at the programme to build mastery and confidence for them.

Group Work, Tutorials and Presentations
Participants will work in groups for discussions, tutorials and assignments. They are required to make presentations as part of the group work.

Roleplays
This provides the context where participants can apply the skills they learn and, in the process, get feedback and coaching from the trainer and the programme members.
